Peter Williams & Co was
founded in 1946 by Peter Williams. The practice has grown and developed
over the years - in the 50s and 60s it became an established general
practice and Peter Williams continued to lead the firm until 1971 when
he became one of the first Chairmen of Industrial Tribunal. He continued
to act in a Consultancy capacity until his death, in 2004 at the age of
93.
Michael Rodney Burr became senior partner in 1973 and continued to
develop and expand the practice of Peter Williams & Company. The
three current partners all trained and qualified as Solicitors with the
practice under the guidance of Michael Burr. We were honoured when
Michael Burr became the first Solicitor to be appointed as a Circuit
Judge in 1992.
Since then the existing partners have continued to build on the firm
foundations laid by both Peter Williams and Michael Burr.
In 1996 the firm celebrated its 50th anniversary as pictured above.
The firm is proud to offer legal services to companies and individuals
in all aspects of law.
We believe in delivering a fast and efficient service but at the same
time caring for all clients, whether legally aided or privately funded.
We currently act on behalf of clients from many areas of England and
Wales at economic rates.
In addition to the main areas of law listed overleaf, we invite
instructions in the specialist areas in which we also have expertise
such as employment law, Court of Protection work, licensing, road
traffic work and charitable trust work
